Remove your data

This erases the record now and keeps the address out of future crawls. No account, no waiting period, no ticket queue.

What should we remove?

No account needed and no proof of ownership required. A removal request is honoured first — the cost of acting on a mistaken request is ours to carry, not yours.

What happens when you submit this

Two things, and the second is the one usually missing elsewhere:

  • The record is erased — deleted, not flagged. A soft flag leaves the data in the database, which is not what an erasure request asks for.
  • The value is added to a permanent suppression list, checked when we crawl and again on every read. Without this the record reappears the next time the source page is read and you have to file the same request again.

Why we do not ask you to prove anything

Verifying ownership would mean collecting more data about you in order to delete the data we already have, and it would turn a right into a process. The cost of acting on a mistaken request is one indexed record. The cost of refusing a genuine one is somebody's legal right. That asymmetry is not close.

What we index in the first place

Business email addresses a company publishes on its own website, with the page each came from. Personal addresses at free providers are not indexed. Nothing behind a login is read.
