How this works

The domain is matched against a continuously updated list of throwaway providers, and the mailbox is verified against the mail server at the same time.

Those are two independent questions, and both answers are reported. A disposable address can be perfectly live right now; a permanent one at a real company can be dead. Conflating them is how a signup form ends up blocking a customer and admitting a bot.

When an address is both disposable and nonexistent, the result is undeliverable — a hard rejection from the mail server is stronger evidence than a classification, so it wins.

An address from a service that provides temporary, throwaway inboxes — used to get past a signup form without giving a real address. They are abandoned within hours, so anything you send afterwards is never read.
